Mysticism, Buddy the Elf, and Believing in something.

A friend and mentor, who is a Bishop, told me I was a Mystic.

Coming from a very conservative, evangelical Christian background, that word gives me images of incantations, humming, and summoning spiritual guides (which is not me). Instead of dismissing him immediately, I asked what a mystic was, in his mind, because I highly regard this man.
